Another good result, with the u15 girls gaining more points in total than any of the other three teams! Overall, we held onto 3rd place with a grand total of 125 points which was good enough to take us from 14th place to 11th place in the league. Grace H achieved the entry standard for English Schools in javelin again and there were great performances from Anne-Lise and Ella C in hurdles and the 100m relay team. Rachael C ran well in the 800m and it was also great to have Ellie W, Rachel T and Maria covering the rest of the middle distance events in the absence of our regular runners.
In the senior events, we had a double win in the javelin with both Sheri and Steph throwing over 33 metres and Amber threw well in the shot. Holly performed very well in pole vault, equalling her pb of 3.30 whist Jenny and Verity gained valuable points in the long jump. Ellie D ran her first SWL events for us, with a good time in the non-scoring 100m and an excellent 400m, an event she has never tried before! It was also Verity's first go at high jump in the absence of Philippa and Megan; she cleared her opening height at the third attempt, having tried to take off from both sides and somersaulted over on her second attempt!!
As ever, many thanks to the parents, coaches, Howard and Carol who supported the team – without you, it would be impossible! The next match is on 28 June in Hertfordshire – the coach will leave at 9.00.

| Brighton & Hove City AC | 135 | | Walton AC | 117.5 | | Aldershot F & D | 109 | | Royal Navy | 95.5 | | Metropolitan Police | 76 | Track – 85 points, Jumps – 35 points, Throws – 15 points Another superb result from the Mens team with a second win out of two matches. Team highlight was the 35 points out of 40 in the jumps including all 4 'B' string results. A number of great performances by Shaun Leigh gained him the man of the match award, but he was pushed all the way by all his team-mates on the track and field. As usually I would like to thank the superb spirit of the athletes, the large amount of support that came down to Portsmouth to cheer the team on and our officials Bern Polden, Chris Carter, Peter Witcomb and Graham Ingram who help keep the event moving. NEXT MATCH IS AT HOME ON JUNE 7TH - ALL THE ATHLETES WOULD LOVE YOU TO COME DOWN TO SUPPORT THEM CONTINUE THEIR QUEST FOR PROMOTION BACK TO DIVISION ONE.
