Friday 365 Booking

Young People’s Introductory Programme

If you are aged between 9 years and 14 years of age (including ages 9 and 14), you can apply to come along on our Athletics 365 programme which runs on a Friday evening from 5.30 to 6.30 at Withdean stadium.

We cover a wide range of events in these sessions so that athletes will develop a broad range of skills to enable them to specialise later in their athletic careers. You don’t need to be a club member to come along to these sessions.

These sessions are run by qualified and experienced coaches and each course lasts for one calendar month, for which the cost is £15 per athlete (This covers the cost of hiring the track, all coaches and club officials are volunteers and do not get paid). NOTE: We do ask that each child has one responsible adult present at the stadium if at all possible in case of accidents etc.

Each month (normally on the monday before the first Friday of the month) we open up online bookings for the entire month(4 weeks)on the website

https://sites.google.com/site/athletics365brighton/

Bookings can only be made by paypal.

Unfortunately places fill up very quickly so you need to be ready to go when the sign up is available.

Limited Places

Each month we have a limited number of spaces for young people to attend the Friday night 365 group. We need to ensure that there are sufficient coaches to work with the athletes and we will restrict numbers so that there is a maximum of 12 athletes per coach. This means that the total number of places available may change each month depending on the availability of the coaches.

If you show commitment and a willingness to compete, you may then be invited to join one of the training groups which run mostly on a Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings. To join one of these groups you will need to join the Athletic club as you need to be able to compete. If you would like to book your child onto Friday night 365, please use the online payment button above.

No space for your child? Parents - Why not volunteer?

If you wish your child could get a space in the Friday 365 group, but have missed out because we had to limit numbers, why not volunteer as a coaching assistant? We will give you full help and support, plus a range of benefits. First of all your child will be guaranteed a place each week since your volunteering will enable 11 more athletes to attend. Secondly, your child will be able to attend for free. And last but not least, the club will pay for you to attend the level 1 Coaching Assistant course run by England Athletics, giving you new skills, new qualifications and masses of satisfaction knowing you are helping young athletes to enjoy exercise and potentially succeed in this great sport.

For more information on becoming a volunteer assistant coach, please speak to any coach at the club.
